He is internationally renowned for his expertise and skill as well as his passion

Douglas Letson, MD, has distinguished himself as an eminent leader through clinical innovation, strategic advances, interdisciplinary collaboration, dedicated mentorship, and skill in achieving progress at the institutional and multi-institutional level. He is internationally renowned for his expertise and skill as well as his passion for empowering others to excel. Among his achievements are the following.


·  Dr. Letson has held multiple leadership positions at leading institutions. At Moffitt Cancer Center, he served as Executive Vice President, Physician-in-Chief, President of Moffitt Medical Group, Chair of the Sarcoma Department, and Chair of the Graduate Medical Education program. He is a professor of Surgery, Radiology and Orthopedics at the University of South Florida.

·  An internationally invited speaker at major conferences, he is a global leader in advances that contribute to pediatric and adult limb salvage in bone and soft-tissue tumors. He is a major innovator of prosthetics for patients, is the lead designer of the Stryker orthopedic oncology system, and he holds 8 US patents for implant design. He founded the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation, which houses Immunotherapy and molecular laboratories for the development of novel compounds for the treatment of bone and soft tissue sarcomas being tested in clinical trials throughout the nation. 

·  He is an acclaimed coach with an impressive track record in training over 100 health care leaders, from physicians and physician-leaders to health care executives. Many of his clients are revered leaders. 

·  He has launched courses worldwide, one of which he has led at the University of Oxford. He founded the Florida Keys musculoskeletal oncology review course, which drew attendees nationwide and abroad for more than two decades. He continues to teach annual musculoskeletal oncology review courses in Oxford, England; Venice Italy; and Hong Kong.

·  He is an active member of prestigious professional societies, among them the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), the American Orthopedic Association (AOA), the Musculoskeletal Tumor Society (MTST), the Connective Tissue Oncology Society (CTOS), the Children’s Oncology Group (COG), the International Society of Limb Salvage (ISOLS) and the National Academy of Inventors (NAI). He previously served on the board of directors of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) and has served on the editorial board of several orthopaedic journals, including the Journal of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network and the Cancer Control Journal. 

·  He spearheaded Moffitt’s Leadership Academy, a one-year leadership development course for mid-career physicians and administrators with leadership potential. Many of the program’s graduates are now serving as successful department and program leaders. 

·  He founded Moffitt’s Office of Graduate Medical Education, which has grown to include more than 20 oncology residency and fellowship programs. 

·  He instituted strategic retreats for Moffitt leaders to take deep-dives into dynamic issues in today’s healthcare landscape. These proactive retreats have made a measurable impact on clinical, research, educational and administrative operations and quality

·  He championed Moffitt’s Wellness Program and Chief Wellness Officer to prevent clinician burnout for Physicians and APPs. One of the first clinician-focused wellness programs in the nation, and Moffitt’s program is recognized by the AMA as a leader in physician wellness. 

·  Dr. Letson’s extraordinary experience began with superior education and training. He received his medical degree and completed his orthopedic residency at Louisiana State University in New Orleans, followed by a fellowship in Musculoskeletal Tumor Surgery at Harvard Medical School in Boston.

Dr. John Peabody, MD, PhD, is a renowned physician-scientist, healthcare innovator, and founding member of Peabody Health Philanthropies (PHP). With a decades-long commitment to improving clinical care worldwide, Dr. Peabody has pioneered the field of clinical practice measurement—developing one of the first scientifically-validated simulated patient platforms to assess and improve provider performance. As founder and former CEO of QURE Healthcare, he successfully brought his innovation to market, scaling it across hospitals and health systems in the U.S. before selling the company in 2021. Dr. Louis (Lou) Harrison, MD, is the President, CEO, and Co-Founder of MyCareGorithm, LLC, bringing decades of leadership in oncology, clinical innovation, and multidisciplinary cancer care. He earned his medical degree from SUNY Downstate and completed his residency at Yale, where he served as Chief Resident in Radiation Oncology. He began his academic career at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, rising to Chief of Brachytherapy and Head & Neck Cancer Program Leader, and held faculty positions at Cornell and Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Harrison has held key leadership roles at Continuum Health Partners and Moffitt Cancer Center, including Chair of Radiation Oncology, Deputy Physician-in-Chief, and Chief Partnership Officer. A former President of ASTRO, the American Brachytherapy Society, and other international societies, his research has focused on head and neck cancer, sarcoma, and advanced radiotherapy techniques. He is widely published, a sought-after lecturer, and the recipient of numerous honors, including the ASTRO Gold Medal for lifetime achievement in radiation oncology.
